Scientific interests Dr John Wenger is a lecturer in Physical Chemistry and part of the Environmental Research Institute at University College Cork. He has 10 years research experience in atmospheric chemistry and has been involved with a large number of National and European projects. His main research interests are in the atmospheric degradation of volatile organic compounds and the chemical composition of atmospheric aerosols. The work involves laboratory studies performed in atmospheric simulation chambers and field measurements. The current focus is on investigations of the kinetics, mechanisms and secondary organic aerosol formation from the atmospheric degradation of aromatic and biogenic compounds.
